Maintenance Technicians (Cleveland, OH)

  • The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, will be responsible for performing tasks involved in the production of Alpha Packaging’s products. The technician will install, maintain, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems. To be an effective Maintenance Technician, one must be aware of Company policies and procedures for performance. One must also be familiar with the department equipment, personnel, and be aware of quality criteria.


    • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
    • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair the machine.
    • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery as a part of the Preventative Maintenance Procedures.
    • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
    • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
    • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
    • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, and drill to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
    • Responsible for off-shift trouble shooting of all production machinery. It may be necessary for the “on-call” person to report to work if the problem cannot be resolved over the phone.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics. Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic. Analytical troubleshooting techniques.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


    • Manufacturing experience
    • Must be willing to get hands dirty
    • Solid electrical / mechanical skill set
    • Hydraulic / pneumatic experience a plus
